Overpainting Process & Surface Craftsmanship
This work began as a multi-layered visual foundation—carefully composed references, tonal studies, and atmospheric planning—before entering my signature overpainting process. Acrylic layers were built, softened, and reasserted repeatedly, allowing color to mature and forms to emerge organically. Brushwork and selective palette-knife textures introduce tactile depth, while translucent glazing unifies the surface, enhancing luminosity and preserving chromatic integrity.
The result is a canvas that rewards proximity: subtle ridges catch light, tonal transitions reveal themselves slowly, and the image evolves with each viewing—hallmarks of a painting made to live with the collector over time.
